What is Moodle?

ICU uses a learning management system (LMS) called Moodle to support learning and complement classes. Moodle is a convenient tool that allows instructors to upload course material. Moodle can also be used for submitting and returning assignments.
Moodle can be accessed anytime and anywhere as long as you have Internet access.

At the CTL, we organize regular workshops and consultation sessions about Moodle. We are also able to respond to individual inquiries. If you have any questions regarding Moodle, please feel free to visit the CTL Office.

*Note: The ID/password for logging in to Moodle is the same as the ID/password that you use to log in to ICU Portal, icuMAP, and your email account. (Do not include when logging in to Moodle.)

■ Submitting a COURSE REQUEST

To use Moodle for your course, you are required to submit a COURSE REQUEST in advance.
You can submit a COURSE REQUEST by clicking on the COURSE REQUEST icon on the right side of this page. You will be asked to log in with your ICU Net ID. After logging in, search for your course and fill out the form. A blank Moodle page will be created for your course.
It usually takes 1 working day although it depends on the period. When your Moodle page is ready for use, you will receive an email from the Helpdesk. If you want to use it immediately, please contact

  • Only instructors may request a new course to be created on Moodle. If you are a TA and would like to request a new course to be created on Moodle, please contact the instructor for your course.

  • Only users who have been assigned the TEACHER ROLE may edit the Moodle page for a course. If you would like the TEACHER ROLE to be assigned to a TA or to other staff (for courses taught by team teaching), please provide their names and IDs in the “Other Information” field of the course request form. It is also possible for instructors to assign the TEACHER ROLE to other users by themselves. Please see here for details.
